英语专业是贵阳学院传统师范类专业，办学历史悠久，可追溯至1978年。英语专业形成了严谨、踏实、求是、创新的优良学风，为社会培养了数以千计的优秀英语教师。

英语专业师资力量雄厚，共有专任教师24名，其中教授4名，副教授14名，博士3名，在读博士2名，硕士以上学位教师占比100%，30%以上教师具有海外留学背景。近年来，获省级教学名师1人，贵阳市高层次创新型青年教师1名，获批省级一流课程4门，已组建3支成熟的教学团队，搭建起2个优质教学平台。

英语专业教师科研成果丰富，近年来共发表学术论文100余篇，出版学术专著及教材10余部；承担国家级项目1项，省部级项目8项，教育厅项目20余项。英语专业注重对学生实践技能的培养，近年来在各类学科竞赛中，师生累计获国家级奖项6项、省级奖项40余项。

英语专业建有语言实验室、同声传译室、学生阅览室等现代化教学设施。专业与贵阳市12所重点中学建立了长期紧密的合作关系，在各中学建有多个实践教学基地，能为学生提供优质教育教学实践机会。

近三年，本专业有30多名毕业生在国内外高校攻读硕士学位。更有大量毕业生获得了教师资格证后投身于英语教育事业。在中长期就业追踪调查中，英语专业毕业生凭借扎实的专业知识与卓越的实践能力，逐步成长为所在行业的坚实支柱和中坚力量。

Introduction to English Major

The English major at Guiyang University is a longstanding program in teacher education, dating back to 1978. TheEnglish majorhas cultivated a scholarly ethos characterized by rigor, practicality, truth-seeking, and innovation, and has produced thousands of exceptional English teachers for society.

The faculty is robust, comprising24full-time teachers, includingfourfull professors and 14associate professors. Among them,threehold doctoral degrees, and two are doctoral candidates. With 100% of teachers holding master’s degrees or higher, and over 30% having studied abroad, the faculty brings a wealth of expertise. In recent years, one faculty member washonoredas a provincial-level master teacher, and another as a high-level innovative young teacher in Guiyang City.Additionally, the department has established four provincial-level top-quality courses, formed three experienced teaching teams, and created two high-quality educational platforms.

The faculty has made significant contributions to academic research, publishing over 100 academic papers and more than 10 monographs and textbooks.Wehave undertaken one national-level project, eight provincial-level projects, and over 20 projects for the Education Department in Guizhou province. Emphasizing the development of students' practical skills, the department has achieved success in various academic competitions, with students and faculty winning six national awards and over 40 provincial awards in recent years.

The English major boasts modern facilities such as language labs, simultaneous interpretation rooms, and student reading areas. It has established long-term, close cooperative relationships with 12 key middle schools in Guiyang, creating multiple practice teaching bases that provide students with quality educational and teaching practice opportunities.

Over the last three years, more than 30 of our English majors have pursued master's degrees at universities both in China and abroad. A significant number of graduates have also received teaching qualifications and are committed to the field of English education. Medium andlong-term employment tracking surveys show that graduates of the English major, with their solid professional knowledge and excellent practical abilities, have become strong pillars and core strengths in their respective fields.
